Digital Culture and Society: International and Comparative School Librarianship

    This three-unit online course enables students to examine school libraries in different countries and cultures. Students will explore how school libraries differ around the world in terms of education, roles, staffing, resources, and services; identify the role of school libraries as a universal construct and in the context of their countries and cultures; analyze information technologies and media issues of politics, equity, bias, and impact; examine national and international school library professional associations; practice cultural competence; and address the information needs of international students through the school library program.
